Improve your mobility

Why you should improve your mobility?

If you strive to move as easily and carefree as possible, mobility training plays a central role. If we integrate yoga and/or mobility training into our daily routine, we not only increase our flexibility, we can also improve the quality of our movements.

Why Mobility Training?

Mobility training is the basis for all physical activity. By improving our range of motion, we can perform both everyday tasks and specific training exercises with greater ease and efficiency. Yoga, with its focus on breathing, strength, and flexibility, has an amazing ability to strengthen the bonds between mind and body, which has a direct impact on our body control. If you don't like the whole thing with yoga, other mobility training works at least as well. The important thing is that you get down and do the positions properly.

Guide: Things to Consider When Stretching

Here are six things to keep in mind when stretching:

  • Warm up first
  • Breathe deeply and calmly
  • Locate the muscle you need to stretch
  • Hold the positions
  • Exercise mobility consistently
  • Listen to your body

Warm up first: Activate the muscles with a light warm-up before you start stretching to reduce the risk of overstretching the muscles.

Breathe deeply and calmly: Use deep breathing to help the body relax and deepen the stretch. It is through a deep breath that we come down in turns and make the stretch pleasant and not painful.

Find the muscle you are going to stretch: We put ourselves in a stretch position to get to the easiest way to stretch a muscle. Having said that, we need to be active in our stretch and adapt the movement so that it has an effect. The position itself does nothing. If we don't feel a pull in a muscle, then nothing happens either. Adjust your angles to get where you want it to feel.

Hold the positions: Once you've found the stretch, aim to hold each position for at least 30 seconds for maximum effect. When you reach the end position, you find your calm breathing and feel the effect of the stretch.

Exercise consistently: Consistency is the key to any success. Try stretching daily to see the best results.

Listen to your body: Avoid forcing your body into uncomfortable positions. Stretching should feel challenging but not painful.

Three things you should know about stretching

There is a lot to know about stretching and why it is good. Here we have chosen to list the three reasons we like:

  • Improves blood circulation
  • Release endorphins
  • Increases range of motion

Improves Blood Circulation: Stretching increases blood flow to your muscles, which not only helps oxygenate them, it also reduces recovery time after exercise.

Releases endorphins: Stretching can trigger a release of endorphins just like cardio. Endorphins are the body's natural pain-relieving happy hormones, which contribute to a feeling of well-being and relaxation.

Increases range of motion: This point may be self-explanatory. Regular stretching will gradually increase your range of motion by lengthening your muscles. This leads to greater flexibility in your joints and less risk of injury as you get older.

Summation

Integrating mobility training and yoga into your daily routine is an investment in your body's long-term health and well-being. PR at the gym in all its glory, but if we can't move properly, our mobility limitation will one day bite us in the tail.
