Avoid stress with these tips

What causes stress?

No matter how we live our lives, physical and mental stress affects us in different ways. Deadlines, relationships, expectations and demands - are just a few examples of loopholes where stress creeps in. The best way to deal with your stress is to first define it. Consider the following:

  • Where does it come from?
  • How does it affect you?
  • How do you react to stress?

It is only when we have caught the stress that we can do something about it.

A life without stress

We also do not see striving for a life completely without stress as particularly desirable. Stress is a natural phenomenon that occurs when we can maintain full control. If we want to continue to develop, be challenged and enriched, we must be exposed to moments and situations we have not been in before. Stress in itself is not dangerous, it is an indicator.

Balance between work and rest

We believe that life feels best when we move between work and rest. When the body's need for movement and challenge results in recovery and rest. In this movement, balance occurs. It's about shifting focus and going from striving, stretching and creating, to letting go, letting go and observing.

How to manage your stress

We think the best way to deal with stress is to acknowledge both sides. Its active and passive side. The body is often simpler than we think. It tells you when it's tired, the same way it signals when it wants activity, or at least it should. If we take the time to listen to these signals, we can much more easily maintain the balance we need.

The goal of balance

Achieving balance is not an end point but a continuous process. When we actively work for mental and physical balance, we work constructively with ourselves. Then we create good conditions for all aspects of life. An act of balance can be anything from an extra long morning of sleep after a hard week at work, to coming home and going for a run after a physically inactive day.

Meet yourself

As I said, we need time with ourselves to be able to perceive our needs. Otherwise, the brain just runs on, and the body has to hang on as best it can. Take your time. Here are some tips on what we usually do to balance out everyday life.

  • Calm walk. Preferably without both music and other distractions. Taking a walk by yourself can be just the right amount of stimulation for both head and body without tiring either part, while giving both a moment for active recovery.
  • Soft stretch fit. No demands, no pain. Imagine how a cat stretches, softly and sympathetically. Just like that!
