ACHIEVING YOUR TRAINING GOALS
When we decide to start training; gym, group training, running or eating more healthily, it may seem like a simple act. You just have to start and there are as many options as you like, just drive!
The fact that it's something that you previously had such a hard time liking that you always stopped doing it, it's not something you think about. The important thing is just to start and then the rest will take care of itself, right?
From my own experience, after over a decade as a PT, the answer is no.
It is very rare that something just comes to us and suddenly we are so good at it that it becomes so much fun that we don't want to stop.
Therefore, the choice of what you choose to start with also becomes important. Or perhaps rather; what you choose to cling to becomes important to fight for and give time to find.
Here will be some points to reflect on before you start training autumn 2024:
- Give yourself time
- Define your training goals
- Find the right place
- Get the right equipment
- Get help and motivation
GIVE YOURSELF TIME
To be successful with your training, it is important that you set aside time for it. Find a place in your schedule where you can prioritize training. Start small and increase gradually, one hour a week can be a good start.
Also, give yourself time over a longer period to actually try different types of exercise and decide to keep going until you find your type.
DEFINE YOUR TRAINING GOALS
Think about what type of exercise you prefer or are curious to try. Dare to try something you've never tried. You have everything to gain and it can give you a fresh and exciting start to a new lifestyle (yes, it's big and will be worth it).
What we have noticed is that it is easy to forget that there are countless types of training to take part in. Take, for example, a visit to the fencing club on their try-on day or why not try a pass at the local jumping rope club?
FIND THE RIGHT PLACE
Make sure your training space is comfortable and easily accessible. When autumn/winter is here, it's dark, it's raining, you have a lot at work, you haven't slept well and you've had a fight with someone you like, etc., then it's not as easy to make time for training.
In such situations, it helps if the travel time is not something that already usually creates a little friction, because when the excuses start to hail, availability can become something that easily breaks the structure.
GET THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT
Good training equipment can make training more fun and effective. You don't need to invest in expensive gadgets, but choose equipment that suits your training and your budget.
It is important that you have well-functioning equipment that allows you to perform the training, get better and ultimately find it fun.
We recommend that you use shoes specially designed for training to optimize your training and ensure stability during heavy lifting. You will find our wide range of shoes from, among others, Under Armor here!
GET HELP AND MOTIVATION
Whether you've done that form of exercise before or not, promise yourself to buy 5-10 hours (or whatever is recommended) from a trainer to give yourself the right conditions to do it right, get better and, again, actually have fun .
Remember, Zlatan knows football and knows how to play it and he had coaches his whole career, how can you think you will know the form of training you choose to train without getting help?
Personally, I get extra motivation when I've bought new training clothes, it's always fun to upgrade the training wardrobe. Check out our range of stylish training clothes from Reload, Under Armour, and Gavelo already today.
SUMMARY
It is easy to look at the person who has succeeded in doing what you want to achieve yourself and forget to see the time it took to get there. Nothing comes by itself.
Give yourself the right conditions by having these training goals in place before you start with more branch-specific training goals.
Start at the right end and if you don't know where it is, get help from someone who does.
