interview with the team

why we started workout brands

We sat down with the team behind Workout Brands to talk about the journey behind the brand, where training meets fashion, and how a global team together builds a platform that unites function, style, and accessibility.

What is the vision behind Workout Brands?

David Axegren: The vision is to make training and training fashion accessible to more people, without compromising on function or feel. It should be easy to build a strong training lifestyle regardless of level.

Workout Brands, New York - 2026

How do you see the development of workout clothes in recent years?

It has gone from being just about function to being a way to express your personality. Today, we expect our clothes to perform in the gym, but also look good when we go for a coffee afterwards. That balance is absolutely crucial.

"Fashion is not just about what you wear, but about how it makes you move through life. "

— David Axegren

What is most important when you develop and choose products?

David Axegren: Function and durability always come first. The product must withstand real-world use.

How do training and fashion meet in your brand?

David Axegren: Training has become part of everyday life. What we do is about creating products that work in the gym but also feel right outside of it.

Armin Nasri: We see how the line between performance and lifestyle is blurring, and it affects everything from how we present products to how we build the brand digitally.

What distinguishes Workout Brands from other players?

David Axegren: We offer thousands of products from well-known brands, with a wide range of sizes for women, men and juniors & always at competitive prices.

How do you think about sizes and inclusion?

David Axegren: We work with a wide size range for women, men and juniors so that more people can find products that suit their needs and body.
